MMA Renews MoU with 510 Army Base Workshop, Meerut to Strengthen Civil–Military Collaboration

Meerut Management Association (MMA) and 510 Army Base Workshop (ABW), Meerut, further strengthened their collaborative partnership through the renewal of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 27th March 2026. This renewal marks a significant step in deepening civil–military synergy and fostering innovation, building upon a successful association established over the past year.

The renewed MoU aims to promote indigenous component development by local entrepreneurs, encourage industry-aligned automation, and enhance cooperation under the Skill India initiative. A key highlight of the agreement is the provision of annual internship opportunities for 100 students from MMA’s Student Chapter at 510 Army Base Workshop, offering valuable hands-on exposure to real-world industrial and defence manufacturing processes.

The MoU was formally signed by Brigadier Amit Dixit, Commandant, 510 ABW, and Shri S. P. Singh, President, MMA, in the esteemed presence of Major General Lalit Kapoor (VSM), Major General Pankaj Kaushik, and other distinguished dignitaries.

This partnership reflects MMA’s continued commitment to bridging the gap between academia, industry, and defence establishments, thereby contributing to nation-building and skill development.

Highlights:

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. S. P. Singh, President, MMA, who highlighted the growing importance of geopolitical developments in shaping economic priorities, trade patterns and institutional resilience, while also emphasising MMA’s efforts in strengthening the industry–academia interface.

The Convention featured eminent speakers from governance, defence and academia. Lt Gen Abhay Krishna (Retd.) provided insights into emerging global geopolitical trends and their implications for India’s security. Lt Gen Vinod Vashisht (Retd.) emphasised the need for strategic adaptability and institutional resilience. Dr. Praveen Kumari Singh highlighted the importance of energy security in the current geopolitical context, while Prof. (Dr.) S. D. Sharma discussed the impact of global developments on India’s economic growth and policy frameworks.

The sessions were highly interactive, reflecting strong engagement from participants. The Convention concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Anurag Agarwal, Vice President, MMA, acknowledging the contributions of speakers, participants and sponsors.
