SEMINAR ON GST (22 April 2017)

Meerut Management Association organized a Seminar on “GST-Gearing Up For The New Tax Regime” on the 22nd April, 2017 at IIA Bhawan, Mohkampur, Meerut.

CA Sudhir Gupta, Managing Partner VSPV & Co., Delhi and Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Managing Director, Mawai Infotech Limited, Noida were the esteemed speakers who enlightened the benefits of GST.

CA Sudhir Gupta informed about the basics of GST. He discussed about the GST Bill and changes in the taxation structure and its implementation.

Mr. Sanjay Sharma discussed about the limitations and benefits of GST. He said that Government is rapidly working to implement the new law for GST. The businessmen and industrialists must have the knowledge of GST.

MMA members were present during the seminar. The panel discussion helped in solving many doubts and queries of the members.

The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Sudhir Chandna, Respected Member, MMA. The members enjoyed delicious lunch after the seminar. PLANT VISIT || DAURALA SUGAR WORKS (08 April 2017)

A plant visit of Daurala Sugar Works (DSW) was organized by Meerut Management Association for its members on 8th April, 2017. DSW is a unit of DCM Shriram Industries Limited.

Mr. Sanjay Rastogi, Chief General Manager (Sugar) and Mr. Harkirat Singh, Chief Chemist of DSW had briefed all members about the company, plant and process of manufacturing of sugar from cane receiving, manufacturing of sugar to packaging and delivery to customers.

The following important processes of sugar manufacturing were explained during plant round:

Cane preparation (cutting and shredding cane to prepare it for juice extraction)
Juice extraction
Juice clarification (remove suspended solids from the juice, typically mud, waxes, fibres)
Juice evaporation (to concentrate the juice to thick syrup)
Syrup clarification (remove suspended solids i.e., mud, waxes, fibres, etc. from the syrup)
Crystallization
Centrifugation (Separation of the sugar crystals from the mother liquor, done by centrifugal machines)
Sugar drying
Packaging and delivery

Besides, tea and snacks, fresh sugarcane juice was also served to all visiting members of MMA which was very much appreciated by every one. After plant visit, a delicious lunch was served in their Club premises and Gift Packets of Sugar Cubes were distributed to visiting members of MMA.

Seminar on “Depression: Let’s Talk” (07 April 2017)

School of Biological Engineering and Sciences Shobhit University, Meerut organized one day Seminar and Free Health Checkup Camp on the theme “Depression: Let’s Talk” at Shobhit University, Auditorium on 7th April, 2017.

Mr. Ankit Singhal, (Immediate Past President) Meerut Management Association, Meerut was the chief guest for the seminar. Faculties/Students of Shobhit University and Members of MMA were also present at the Seminar.

30th Annual Convention of Meerut Management Association was conducted on 04-03-17 at IIA Bhawan, Mohkampur, Meerut. The topic was “EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES THAT WILL SHAPE OUR FUTURE”.

The speakers who addressed the programme included:

The Flagship event of MMA was attended by 250+ delegates including members, guests, and students of Engineering and Management Institutes.

The President of MMA, CA Sunjeev Gupta & Convention Chairman, Mr. Vibhor Agrawal, welcomed all the speakers, moderator, and participants.

MMA’s Endeavour ‘Souvenir’ was released by CA Sunjeev Gupta, Mr. Vibhor Agrawal, Mr. Avinash Raghava, Mr. Sarin Suares, Mr. Sanjeev Jain and Mr. Ankur Jaggi.

Vote of thanks was presented by Mr. Puneet Anand, Former President MMA. It was very well arranged by Mr. Ankur Jaggi, Sr. Vice President, MMA and Mr. Kapil Gahlot, Executive Director, MMA.

The convention was highly appreciated by all attendees.

MMA DAYAL ANNUAL DEBATE (22 February 2017)

MMA Annual Dayal Debate on “INDIA IS NOT READY FOR DIGITAL PAYMENTS”, sponsored by M/S Dayal Fertilizers and organized by Meerut Management Association was held on 22nd February 2017 at IIA Bhawan, Mohkampur, Meerut. 16 Teams of students from various Engineering and Management Colleges from Meerut and nearby places took part. CA Sunjeev Gupta (President MMA) opened the Debate and welcomed all guests. Mr. Ankit Singhal Coordinated the event.

The winners were as follows-

First Position – Mr. Ishwar Dayal, JP Institute of Engg. & Technology
Second Position – Ms. Ayesha Sharma, MIET
Third Position – Neha Baig, Kalka Business School
Consolation Prize – Mr. Ujjwal Sharma, MIET

MIET won the MMA-Dayal Debate Running trophy as the winning team.

Trophy to the winning team was presented by Mr. Abhay Kumar Managing Director and Mr. Aman Kumar Director of M/S Dayal Fertilizers Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Ankit Singhal presented the vote of thanks.
