Meerut Management Association is a professional non-profit body affiliated to All India Management Association with the aim to promote scientific management in industry and trade. It also undertakes training and consultancy to improve managerial effectiveness and competitiveness of its members

FORMATION

Meerut Management Association, formed in 1966, is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The founder members of the Association were Sh. K.N. Mohan, Managing Director, Mohan Meakins Breweries; Sh. Sultan Singh Jain, Managing Director, Saru Smelting and Sh. R. Sahai, General Manager, Daurala Sugar Works. The Association is affiliated to All India Management Association.

OBJECTIVES

  • To promote professional management in industry, trade, government and public institutions.
  • To undertake management consultancy, training, education and research in member organizations.
  • To aid and supplement management education efforts of AIMA.

MEMBERSHIP
The Association has following five member categories-

  • Life members
  • Corporate Members i.e. Industrial & Trade establishments.
  • Institutional Members i.e. Assocations, Chambers, Bank, Govt. / Semi-Govt. Departments, Educational / Research / other institution.
  • Individual Members
  • Student Members i.e. (of 18 Years & above age) enrolled in any management/ professional educational institution.

MANAGEMENT

The Association is managed & controlled by the Council which is composed of President, Sr. Vice President, Vice President, Hony. Secretary and 12 elected members. The administrative functions are carried out by the Executive Director appointed by the Council.

MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT

Management Development Programmers and Workshops are designed and organized by the Association on contemporary management issues with a view to enhance human capital value of entrepreneurial firms, to upgrade managerial skills for efficient and productive functioning. Some of the subjects covered during recent past are Positive Attitude, Success that Succeeds, Leadership & Team Building, Six Sigma – Quality Improvement Technique, Quality Improvement Techniques for angers / Engineers / Supervisors, Growth Strategies for Entrepreneurial firms, Marketing Strategies in Global Environment.

Lecture Meetings are organized enabling members to build strong relations with thier associates (vendors, customers, workforce etc.) and be more effective in managing their functions. Topics covered recently are like Time Management, Self Management, Stress Management, Emotional Intelligence, Intuition & Business, 5-S, KAIZEN, Brand Management for Successful Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Effective Communication.

ANNUAL CONVENTION

MMA organizes an Annual Management Convention every year. In the conventions, industry and trade discuss current scenario impinging upon management. The unfolding of challengers, Growth opportunities in resurgent India, Innovative Marketing and Lean Manufacturing, Transformation Trough the People, India’s Vision – 2010 – Management Perspective, Competitiveness concerning trade and Industry are some of the subjects that have been debated upon and future course of action to sustain the business activities in a effective manner charted out. The conventions attract participation from Meerut and surrounding areas and are addressed by eminent speakersnof national repute.

INSPIRING LEADERS

inspiring_leadersMeerut has a place in International market. This is due to entrepreneurs who dared to venture and excelled in their trade. Such Successful entrepreneurs of Meerut are honoured by MMA, acknowledging their achievements to the society, to share their success stories. They are great inspiration to the young prospective entrepreneurs.

The Association hunts regularly for the young talents among its members for deliberating on the issue and the problems being experienced in their own field. This motivates the young members in sharing the ideas and also help public speaking.

The Association provides exposure to the Business Management and the Engineering Students with leaders of the industry and trade to learn traits to be successful mangers and leaders.

MMA -DAYAL DEBATE

mma_dayal_debateMMA – DAYAL debate is a highly appreciated and awaited annual event by the students of Business Management and Engineering Institutions in Meerut / Modinagar / Ghaziabad. The students of about 16 Management and Technology Institutes share their views and deliberate on current topics like “India should focus on service industry and abandon manufacturing”, “Ethics is essential for Bussiness Growth”, ‘Disinvestment of PSUs is in the best of our Country”. Their is a running tropy for the Winning team.

SULTAN SINGH JAIN MEMORIAL LECTURE

Sh. Sultan Singh Jain was founder President of MMA. A lecture is held every year in his memory. Renowned and learned personalities are invited to delivery lectures. Some of recent speakers are Dr. Kiran Bedi (First Woman IPS Officers); Sh. R. Gopakrishnan, AIMA’s President and Director of Tata Sons Ltd; Sh. B.S. Nagesh, MD/CEO of Shopper’s Stop.

The Association publishes a quarterly Journal “ENDEAVOUR” which is accepted as useful and educative periodical in management. Copies of “ENDEAVOUR” are circulated to top Management professionals all over India.

At the time of annual convention a Souvenir is also Published and released to the delegates.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Members of the Association are aware of their social responsibilities too. To create awareness of responsibilities of the citizen for the well being of the city, the Associates hold Seminars and discussions. MMA continues to act as a catalyst towards realizing the dream of “Hamara Meerut, Sunder Meerut”.

MMA plants every year about 300 trees under its Tree Plantation Programme at different locations.

MMA organizes Medical Check-up camps (Heart, Eyes) for Sr. Citizens of the town. About 200-250 Senior Citizens are provided free medical consultancy in such camps.

WOMEN WING

Women wing of MMA is activate in organizing talks on subjects like ‘Time Management’, ‘Behind Every Successful Man there is a Woman’, ‘The Art of Communication’, ‘Woman of substance’, The ladies take full interest in these talks.

MMA also has well equipped Audio-Visual Management Training Theatre at its Management House.
